Floor Sanding & Polishing

Our specialty is Sanding & Polishing old timber floors. We are very passionate about our job, and love seeing the look on your face when you see your new floor for the first time! Wood Wizards can sand and polish both new and existing floors.  We specialise in repairing and restoring old floors including removal and disposal of existing floor coverings. Floor finishes are categorised as follows: Oil-Based finishes – traditonally linseed or tung oil used.  

Associated with waxed timber floors of the past.  Not widely used as require a high amount of maintenance. Polyurethane Finishes – One pack or two pack systems which provide a harder finish and therefore a greater abrasion resistance.  Low routine maintenance required  Will darken over time.  Strong odour whilst coating which dissipates as the finish dries. Water based finishes – Moderate Durability, darkens less than polyurethane finishes with age, less odour.  More expensive  than other floor finishes. We recommend and use floor finishes and sealer manufactured by Urethane in Brookvale NSW.
